Our program offers comprehensive curriculum on par with most vet tech programs but in a fraction of the time. We emphasize Pet Empowerment and Fear Free practices that aren't found in most vet assisting training programs. Classes are limited to 15 students for personalized, hands-on attention in our 35,000 square foot specialized facility.

The duration of vet assistant training schools can vary. Most schools will have programs ranging from 12-weeks to 6 months, with a few exceptions. Length can be an important deciding factor, but shorter programs will not provide the same level of proficiency as longer ones. At the APC, our vet assisting program takes less than 6 months to complete.

Yes! Many veterinary assistants advance to become vet techs by completing an accredited veterinary technology program. The hands-on experience gained as a veterinary assistant provides valuable practical knowledge that complements formal vet tech education.

Most vet assisting programs have minimal prerequisites, such as a high school diploma or equivalent. To attend a training program at the APC, you must be 18 years of age for all in-person classes. No other experience is necessary.

Unlike most 2-4 year educations required to become a veterinary technician, vet assisting programs are a fraction of the price and length. You should expect to spend anywhere between $10,000 and $20,000 for an in-person program.

You'll receive comprehensive training covering medical terminology, anatomy, pharmacology, basic animal healthcare, office practices, and hands-on clinical skills. Our curriculum also includes animal behavior training and Pet Empowerment methods to set you apart from other professionals in the field.

Yes! Class is from 8:30am to 2:30pm every day. Many of our students maintain part-time jobs while attending school.
